Windows 7 details and extensive demo of the OS
Filed under: Computers, Software

While at the PDC keynote, Microsoft took that time to talk about their new OS that they are working on, Windows 7. We know that the new operating system will have a number of new enhancements over Vista, which was a bit of a lame duck.
The keynote was extensive, so is very hard to cover all that Microsoft covered, but Engadget have done their best to pick out that bits that are of interest to us. The early beta stages of Windows 7 looks great, the OS can run on a 1GHz netbook with 1GB of RAM, but it is still early days so we will have to keep an eye on that.
One of the biggest changes has to be the taskbar; Windows 7 has done away with text, and not has just icons. There is also a new jump list of app controls; options can be accessed by right clicking. For a full run down of all the features visit Engadget.
