Wii Music: Shigeru Miyamoto Explains

When it comes to top gaming review sites like IGN, how well can we trust their reviews? This is one question that some gamers may be thinking when they read Shigeru Miyamoto’s response to bad Wii Music reviews.

If one reviewer does not get the ideas behind a game (even if it is a well known site like IGN) then should we trust that review, or read many other reviews? It may seem a simple question to answer but you may be surprised at how many gamers read just one review and take it all in.

You can read Shigeru Miyamoto’s full response here to IGN’s review of Wii Music and specifically IGN’s Matt Casamassina. Have a read and let us know what you think, also how many review sites do you check out to get an idea on a game before buying it?

The unfortunate thing here is that Matt is so influential on the Nintendo scene that you can actually find several carbon copy reviews on many other professional sites. Matt’s lack of professionalism with regards to his review of this game has given others on the hate train the OK to take the cheap and easy way out. Rather than trying to understand the game, they dismiss it as child’s play. It is much more than that… an entire paper could be written about this game and its similarities to and differences from other Miyamoto masterpieces. Just don’t expect that from gaming journalists. They’ve already moved on to The Conduit or Gears of War 2.
