Head of Online Media Group, BBC Future Media & Technology, Anthony Rose has said that an iPlayer that is specific for the Sony PS3 is in the works. The BBC knows how popular the iPlayer is, and felt that they need to bring this service to PlayStation 3 owners.
Rose has said that they are not quite there yet, this is due to the PS3 using an older version of Flash. The older version of Flash does not support some of the features on the BBC media player. Flash 9 update for the PS3 has a number of compatibility issues.
Rose did add that their flash developers are working on the problem and hope to be able to come up with a fix soon. Versions of the iPlayer are already available for iPhone, Linux Mac, Nintendo Wii and Windows.

What I really want from a PS3 BBC iPlayer is a full screen app that can be accessed outside of the browser.
iPlayer is NOT available for the iPhone.
Well.. at least in the US
iPlayer as a stand alone apt under network menu would be sweet.
