BlackBerry Storm, Bold and Pearl get cheaper calls with Truphone
By: Daniel Chubb | October 28, 2008 | Leave a CommentWe may have highlighted the BlackBerry Storm, Bold and Pearl in our title but most BlackBerry smartphones can get cheaper calls with the new Truphone.
Truphone is basically a service allowing people to make cheap, or even free calls on their mobile, using the Internet (VoIP). The new “Truphone Anywhere” is launching today for the BlackBerry.
This means Blackberry users can now enjoy very low rates to a huge range of international destinations from their handset. This has the potential to save them a huge amount of money on their bills, especially if they are heavy business users.
In the current economic climate, where cutting costs has become a matter of priority, Truphone offer an ideal solution to save cash on phone bills.
Not only does Truphone let you make free or very cheap phone calls from your BlackBerry, there are also no roaming charges or sign up fee – which make it the must have application for your Blackberry.
Instead of requiring the user to remember what to do, Truphone Anywhere will simply ask whether he/she wants to make a Truphone call whenever an international number is dialed. The user simply accepts, and Truphone connects the call. This reduces international call rates to as little as £0.03/$0.06 per minute.
