Apple MacBook Pro: SSD vs HDD Test
By: Peter Chubb | October 28, 2008 | 1 CommentThere is a battle going on with the new Apple MacBook Pro, but it is a battle with how the different storage drives perform. With the new MacBook you get the choice of either an SSD or a HDD, so how do the two compare.
The test subject is the Apple MacBook Pro with a 2.8GHz CPU; one has the Hitachi Travelstar 7K320 7200rpm 320GB hard disk drive, the other has the OCZ Core Series 128GB Solid State Drive inside.
Well it is no surprise that the 128GB OCZ Core Series SSD is much faster than the HDD, when it comes to sustained large and small READS. The SSD only had a slight edge in performance when it came to large sustained WRTIES.
