Sony PS3 now selling more games than Xbox 360

More BAD news for Microsoft.

You should do an article about how Microsoft will not be making a single cent in profit off of the Xbox360, due to the 1,000,000,000 (billion) dollar extension of the “3-year warranty” implemented several months ago.

…Not to mention that (tiny little) CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, in regards to “knowingly shipping consoles with a 33% failure rate,” in order to better compete against Sony and Nintendo….thing, Lol.

I couldn’t really tell much between them in terms of graphics, the only difference that really stood out for me is the additional load screen on the 360 version at about 2:20 into the video.

From what I’ve read in reviews the 360 has a lot of these little area load screens that break up the flow of the game, the PS3 by comparison has no load delays between areas…

Sony are in for the long haul…they have no choice! This is encouraging though, as Sony needs that software income to offset PS3 losses. The test will be the new Xbox. It has the potential to really hurt Sony as being late to the party – they will always be playing catch-up.
With the prior knowledge Sony had about what it was that made the Xbox so popular, it is astounding how badly Sony “stuffed up” regarding things like in-game XMB, chat, in-game music etc. Surely at launch these basic things should have been there ready to compete with Xbox?

I don’t believe this article.. It gives nothing to back up the claim… I believe 360 is selling more games.. without a doubt….

I’ve had all consoles since launch, and I buy far more 360 games than ps3… I own 4 ps3 games, and about 17 xbox 360 games, and about 8 wii games…. PS3 has no good exclusives…. I don’t think this article is accurate…

Just looking at the attach rates for the respective counsoles should alert you to something fishy going on here. The attach rate for the 360 is 8.1 games per console, for the PS3 its 5.x. and seeing as that the 360 has sold 5000000 more consoles that’s an additional 15 million games over the PS3. Where are they getting their numbers at here?
The trick that they’re pulling is that there are certain developers, Konami for example that are selling better on the PS3 than the 360, and they only publish these figures while completely leaving out Bioware and the like.

Let’s not forget that you can pirate games for the 360 so a lot of folks haven’t actually bought the game itself, unlike the PS3 where you have to buy the real game because you cannot pirate blu-ray, as of yet.

Plus, I’m sure there are many folks out there that have mulitple 360s due to its high failure rate. Factor those in as well and just play the freakin games!

I agree. Konami, namco and so on, have been widly Sony 3td party companys, so sure they WILL have good numbers, but what people do, is shove 3td party comps, like Bioware and Epic out of the picture. Recently we have seen a ton of Namco/Bandi games on the 360 though, and so on.

Granted that Sony wants the Ps3 to last, I think they said 10 years, correct me if Im wrong there, but I’m almost sure by the end of next summer, MS will have their new system on show at the E3 show or some electronics show somewhere.

When this happens, the following of MS, (as in 3td parties) will already have had a grasp on coding and such for it and latch themselfs onto the new hardware that will mostly beat or be better then the Ps3. Remember how game dev’s complained that the PS3 was so hard to code for since it was all not translated when Sony gave the dev kits out to the american corps?

Well, that is one of the best things a lot of people,game reviewers,fanboys/girls over look when they compare the systems and how well a certain one does, or is doing. The only thing that would really “hurt” MS at this point would be if all, and I mean ALL the 3td parties stopped devoloping for the 360 and future consoles through and with MS and went strictly with Sony.

Well that, and if the “Big N” pulled out a rabbit from their hat and acutally ALLOWED more mature content for mature players and mature games. It still blows my mind a company that has two of the leading systems on the market has a handheld system that has more mature content on it then its bigger bro, the Wii. lol

the xbox360 is out 2x as long as the ps3, so the real figure is that the ps3 attach rate should be 10..

It looks like the attach ratio will increase further in favour of the PS3, purely due to the fact that there is rampant piracy on the 360 and no piracy on the PS3. By that alone software sales will become better on the PS3 as the install base catches up to the 360

Aww, can the little boys with 360′s not deal with the truth. I tell you what, now you have spent loads on your 360 (that is as reliable as a condom with no tip) why not shell out another £400 on a new console that also doesnt work. Ps3 is the better machine thats why it sells more games. People can use it without worrying, hence more games played.

Oh and by the time the 720 comes out devs will prefer working with ps3 so MS are screwed whatever happens.

TO SERG. MGS is not coming out on 360. 360 does not support 50gb discs and MGS is built for the ps3 architecture yes they may release the next MGS on 360 but not this one! It would mean konami pretty much building the game again.

I have a Wii and a PS3 never use the wii. Would never get a 360 because ive got a PC! and the 360 is one loud piece of hardware impossible to watch films on. PS3 is an all round entertainment system and sits in a its proud place below my HD TV.

This artical is a load of bull. Theres like no evidence. If anything the 360 is selling more as it has a much larger library of games and has sold more consoles.

Theres more developers behind the 360 over the ps3 so theres more competition. So individual developers on the ps3 will probably end up making more money but that dosen’t mean that more ps3 games are flying of the shelfs then 360 games.

Please produce evidence next time you come up with an article that is so reliant on it.

Sales figures please. Links to sales analysis please. Something other than you writing crap on a PRODUCT REVIEWS site please.

Your not entirely speaking the truth there my friend, your theory is good but your knowledge is lacking.

True that the knowledge of 360 hacking is easily found and implemented, but you say that you cannot pirate the blu-ray games for the ps3 yet, this is untrue.

I will not place any links and I do not condone any of the action of playing games you have not payed for. I myself have 2 original 20gb model ps3′s (specifically with emotion chip for certain reasons) both with upgraded HDD, one of the ps3′s I use for my day-to-day gaming and I buy all the games I want for that ps3, on disc or in the playstation store, but my other ps3 has an InFeCtUs modchip installed, now let me explain that this modchip does not in anyway immediately allow you to place in hacked games or anything like that, the modchip allows you to play around with the systems firmware (bios), and in sense allows you to play around with the very heart of the ps3, allowing you to do practicaly anything to your ps3, but this is not for the weak hearted and dumb brained yokels, one slight screw up when messing around flashing your systems bios could lead to one nice big black shiny paperweight. Anybody here who used to or still does play around with psp custom firmware like Devhook and Dark Alex will know what I mean.

I have been able to customise my own low-level applications for the ps3 (tetris, calculator, system lock utility and many more) and have also been able to rip the contents and also rip a disc image from blu-ray movie and game discs to the ps3′s HDD using the ps3 itself, and then transfer them accross to my other ps3 and am able to run them directly from its HDD.

My point being that it would indeed be possible for people to install pre-made custom firmware directly to their ps3 to allow themselves to be able to play blu-ray movies from any region, blu-ray games just via the image itself, and much more.

Let me re-say that I do not condone the action of playing copied games, if you want the game, buy the game. Its as simple as that, support the people who develop the games that you play which provide you with enjoyment. There is no excuse for theft, except maybe in a life or death situation in which a human life is worth more.

The only reason I do what I do is to learn more about the systems, how they run and so I can advance my skills, any game or movie I have created an image file for I have done so from discs that I own and that I have purchased, and usually I do not keep the disc images on any HDD for more than a week, mainly due to space reasons to be honest, blu-ray discs usually contain many, many gb’s worth of data and my HDD fills up VERY quickly.

All I can say to the Xbox 360 users who play games that have not been paid for is shame on you, you will be the ones who bring the fall of that gaming system if what DaBot says is true that “a lot of folks haven’t actually bought the game itself”, if game developers are being deprived of money due to a flaw in the system that certain 360 owners illegaly take advantage of then eventually the game developers will slowly stop developing games for those systems and then the console will fall.

The article doesn’t explain why the PS3 would be selling more software than the 360, even though there is a lower PS3 install base. It would be nice to see solid numbers, and a theory as to why this is the case.

LOL. Nice to see this Sony biased blog making up more rubbish. Selling more software? Now we all know that’s a lie. The article you got your ‘news’ from is talking about revenue from a few publishers, not total sales.

There are also no official figures to back this up. The website just sources itself.

i’m an xbox fan but i must admit that ps3 has a better console than 360 as u can save music and videos easily through the usb and has a higher memory capacity, but when it comes to playing games, the 360 is much better, first of all, cos of its controller (very comfortable esp for fighting games as d ps3′s d-pad is spaced out, try pressing up & right together or down & left and u’ll ‘ve to bend ur wrist), secondly 360 has more cooler games like mass effect, forza3, bioshock, halo3 and even, gta – ballad of gay tony. I do have both consoles & the only games i play on the ps3 is mgs4 & gran turismo 5 & i’m waiting for god of war3.
