When it comes to top quality LCD TV’s, Philips is one of the big boys and they have a massive range of superb Full HD 1080p LCD’s. One that has caught our eye is the Philips 42TA648BX, which has a 42 Inch LCD panel.
The TV comes with a resolution of 1920×1080p, this is the highest resolution of HD sources available, and offers the best possible picture. The TV is at its best when watching Blu-ray movies, as well as playing the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3.
The Philips 42TA648BX 42 Inch 1080p LCD TV is not all about its picture quality, it is about sound as well and the 20 watts of sounds is great when watching movies. Woot currently have the Philips 42TA648BX as their deal of the day, and costs just $749.99.

Problem with my Philips 42TA648BX from Sams Club Your web site glows about this tv value and its a beautiful looking feature packed TV but I am learning from others what I have just experienced on Day 2 of owning it as others have, that there is an annoying infamous red or blue or green colored vertical line appears about an inch down all the way to the bottom about 3/4 to the right in on the 42 in screen. Now more ghosting and aura effects. Guess I got a bad one, and am taking it back for a Sony or Samsung. I bought a Philips CD burner b4 and it went bad after the second time using it. They make beautiful products I wish I could rely upon them. A Netherlands company product made in Mexico and China.
I got a vertical blue line on Phillips 42PFL7532D 42 inch 1080i LCD TV after 18 months (warranty expired).
Phillips service will come and see if it is fixable for $99
Has anyone had this fault repaired? How much?
Are Phillips products really made in Mexico and China?
I am seeing a similar vertical blue line on Phillips 42 inch 1080i LCD TV after 2yrs of purchase from SAMS. This blue line appears after 20-30 mins of continuous watching but goes away if I tap on top of the screen. But appears again after few mins. But this is a temproary workaround I have as of now. Did you get yours fixed, what was the issue. Please share.
I got a 37″ philips 1080P and after 20 months I have started to experience blue and black hue for 15 to 20 minutes after turning it on - I cannot see anything for that period, my next door neighbour has a 32″ one and had similar problems
there must be better TV thans this around - for sure my next tv will not be a phillips
