Nintendo increases Wii production for holiday season: still not enough
By: Peter Chubb | October 27, 2008
Nintendo America is very confident about their sales predictions for their Wii consoles over the holiday season. President Reggie Fils-Aime has been talking about the potential of console shortages of the Wii over the Christmas period.
Nintendo are constantly increasing production levels of their Wii games console, and are now producing 2.4 million units per month. Last year they were producing just 1.6 million units per month, which lead to huge shortages.
It seems that even though Nintendo hope to keep up with the holiday season demand, Fils-Aime says that if you see a Nintendo Wii in the store you should get it. He added that even though they have increased their supply by 50 percent, they still do not know if this is enough to keep up with the demand.
