HTC G1 Phones to sell 600,000 in 2008

We have had some mixed reports about what the sales figures for the new T-Mobile G1 phone will be, but HTC are finally giving us their forecast of how many Google Android handsets they hope to sell. HTC expect to sell around 600,000 units by the end of this year, 2008.

There are some who believe that HTC are intentionally lowballing its forecast, but why would they feel the need to do so. We all know how hard it is to try and forecast sales figures, but if they do give a low forecast, they can act surprised when the sales figures are greater.

As yet HTC have not give us there 2009 sales predictions, but it looks as though it will be much less than that id the iPhone 3G. Apple forecast sales of 10 million handsets by 2008, but that is now closer to 15 million.
