Rolls-Royce Electric Phantom
By: Peter Chubb | October 24, 2008
As the world now starts to get more conscious about what we are doing to our environment, we have now started to look at the vehicles that we drive. It is no surprise that SUV’s are the worst offenders, but the Roll-Royce is also a big offender.
I know that there are not many of these luxury vehicles on the road, but they still give out a huge amount of Co2 levels. Roll-Royce now has a new CEO, Tom Purves, and with him he brings a new perspective, and that involves a Roll-Royce Phantom and an electric engine.
In the past people have talked about a hybrid Rolls-Royce, but the vision is to have it powered by a full megawatt electric motor. Purves believes that with a little help from parent company BMW, they could engineer the new electric Roll-Royce Phantom in house.
