Far Cry 2 on Sony PS3: Apparently it’s lacking

As we know Sony are always bigging up their PS3, saying that it is the only “true” HD console. Well it seems that with the release of Far Cry 2, it has giving them a swift kick in the behind, as the game is hampered with a number of issues.
Gamers have been complaining that the game has widescreen issues, and the 3.5GB install is also not going down well with PlayStation 3 owners. Reviewers have said that the PS3 version fall’s shorts of the Xbox 360 version.
The problem is the PS3 of Far Cry 2 only supports 720p, while the Xbox 360 version offers full 1080p support. Ripten has put the blame on the developer, saying that they are lazy and stupid, and that it is not the fault of the Sony PS3.

No one said the PS3 can’t do software upscaling you moron, I only said what it doesn’t say 1080p on the box unless it is native 1080p whereas the 360 displays it on the box even if its an upscaled resolution.

very few 360 games are 1080p, almost all of them are sub 720p on 360, and use the (not very good) upscaler to upscale them to 1080p.
The PS3 has far more native 1080p games, and the upscaler generally makes a better job of upscaling those games that are not 1080p.
Look at the closeups of GTA IV, on PS3, depsite being slightly lower resolution, the textures look noticably better.
You can tell is close to Christmas, the Microsoft FUD machine is in overdrive….
Yes again, a load of rubbish. I have both PS3 and 360 and all ( Thats is every game) Is better on 360. I got the PS3 free with my broadband and now it is used as a door wedge. I have downloaded demo and both 360 and PS3 and all of them come off worse against the More powerfull 360. And for all you idiots that think the PS3 has games in 1080, thats rubbish too. My TV tells me what the input resolution is and all PS3 games I have or played on it have been 720 and even 526 which is old TV imput size. Also the GTA comment its total Bull, I have played it on both the 360 and PS3 and the graphics are shocking on the PS3 compared to the 360. I know the true hurts but for £129.00 you too can have the better games, better online and to be honest better everything, just swollow you pride and make the change… You will thank me for it one day

Sorry Mark forgot to mention, Christmas will not be close it will be a walk over for the 360 as was the last 2. There are only about 5 to 6 Christmas’s in a console life so to win 3 so far and maybe one or two more is a total humiluation of the playstaton brand. This gen, MS have won not because they have sold the most consoles but they have proved that they are in it for the long run and also will make a Xbox 3,4 and 5 maybe. I can’t really see a playstation 4 ( unless you are taliking about the PS4 that will just be a correction of the PS3) as they have lost soooooo much money and there image is not good anymore. Just thought I would mention that too.
