Fallout 3 Sony PS3 review: compares poorly to Xbox 360 and PC
Filed under: Gaming, Sony Playstation 3

PSM3 Blog decided to do a review of the Sony PS3 version of Fallout 3, and it seems that the transition to the PlayStation 3 has not been a good one. PSM3 Blog believes that the PS3 version is a poor comparison to the Xbox 360 and PC counterparts.
Many gamers will now be reading that review and saying that the Sony PS3 version sucks compared to Xbox 360 and PC version, but PSM3 Blog just says that the PS3 version just looks slightly worse. So how have they come to this conclusion?
Firstly the PC version of Fallout 3 looks gorgeous, thanks to the vivid color, as well as high-res textures and superb lighting effects. Although the textures are rougher on the Xbox 360, the frame rate is solid.

As long as the framerate does not drop as bad as Half Life 2 from the Orange Box, it should be OK. The game play is what people look for.
Graphics too.
At this point the PS3 installs the game on its hard drive and its still choppy?
After the fall update the 360 will allow installs and Fallout 3 will run even better than smooth off the disk… The test was not even between the two consoles as the PS3 had the install advantage. So the fall update will even the playing field and sorry to say… raise the bar even higher for Sony. Sucks to be you.
ps3 sucks big time. sorry sony this time you lose.
All of you that hate on Fallout3 and PS3 can eat ****. You guys are ****** stupid. Just because Xbox 360 makes more of a selection of games then PS3 the PS3 has better graphics, online play (oh HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! you Xbox ******* have to pay for online PS3 doesn’t.) Anyway Fallo ut is ******* bomb the graphics are rad all and all the gam is the ****.Oh I’m going to go into more why the PS3 is better thenthe 360. First of what the **** is this red ring of death bs. Ihad a 360 for like 3 months and I thought it was cool untill I got the red ****** ring of death. Also the PS3 has a better fan and you can buy an INTERCOOLER. you know so your system doesn’t get to hot and fry or cause fires like the 360 was and still is doing. Ok basically **** all of the PS3 and Fallout3 haters and **** YOU XBOX360 fagoots you can all lick my ball sand rot in a blazing pit in hell.
As a PS3 owner I have to say I’m pretty sick of this. This will be the 4th cross platform game in a row I’ll be buying for my 360 (I’m fortunate enough to have both systems) and it’s really just confirming what Microsoft and several developers said when the PS3 first came out – developing for the Cell processor may have more “RAW” CPU power than the 360 when you take into account the SPU “mini-cores” but with only 1 “true” core (that can run conventional code without reprogramming a virtual CPU on the SPU) the 3 cores of the 360 just seem to do a better job than the single core of the Cell. I keep thinking that the Unreal Engine or some other 3D engine is going to make such amazing use of the SPUs that we’ll see the Cell just silky smooth, and maybe the PS3 is being held back by the 256MB nVidia GPU, I don’t know and am starting not to care. All that matters is that 2-3 years into the generation we should be seeing ROCK SOLID releases for all platforms with no frame rate issues and perfect 720p or even 1080p graphics. It was acceptable that Oblivion had slowdown on the PS3 (even the 360 had it but not as much) because it was a port, but current games designed with production PS3 hardware throughout the development cycle should not have these problems. Even with the higher BluRay capacity and the RRoD issue, I’m starting to think PS3 was just poorly designed compared to the 360. MS will eventually fix the overheating (RRoD) problems but how can Sony fix a crappy GPU and fundamentally difficult CPU?
Then again, maybe in 3 more years we’ll start to see some really amazing PS3 development as we saw 5 years into the PS2’s lifespan with God of War. Personally I don’t think ANY hardware can competitively last 10 years the way Sony projects the PS3 lifespan will be, but time will tell.
I’ve not sen any other reviews and I can’t see PSM3 having a review copy for both PS3 and 360. I’m putting it down as false for now.
