Apricot Picobook pulling Linux for Windows XP: No MSI Wind headache
By: Peter Chubb | October 23, 2008 | Leave a CommentApricot is doing their best not to get the same headaches that MSI have got with their Wind Netbooks. Apricot have decided to pull their Linux-based Picobook Pro in favor of the Windows XP version.
The Apricot Picobook Pro netbook was launched last week and was being offered with the choice of either XP or SuSE Linux Enterprise Edition. Yesterday Apricot made the decision to pull the Linux version as well as reducing the price of the XP version.
Apricot decided upon this decision to ensure that customers do not get the same troubles that MSI Wind customers had with their Linux based netbooks. MSI noticed that the Linux based versions of the Wind netbook were returned four times as often as the XP based versions.
