Fable 2 Legendary Weapons: Guns and Crossbows

I initially disliked the idea of guns in fable but now after playing the second game it really contributes to the combat and I enjoy it.

i unhappy, I’m in england and it aint been released yet, but i do like the ideas of guns, it might add a bit more depth and looks cool, plus, the blacksmith stuff loooks great.

I’ve played it already and OMG gunz in fable is a major major plus they realy do make the game alot better and more interesting and i also like how u make da decision if u want to be evil or good dat really kicks ass

dude yes i know. i was really against the guns but then once i bought it on realease yesterday i was like gong crazy on how awesome the guns are. it is by far the best game ive ever played. i vote best game of ’09……..period.

great game, short story line, mediocre combat, will using sucks, hard to use a bow, the exploring of “albion” is seemingly endless, for some reason i cant find any walkthroughs leading to any answer of any more powerful weapons, wtf i only have 5 days till i return it

well Sparrow the long bow from fable 1 was really cool and if there was a legendary bow in the game that would be pretty sick but its 500 years later bows are obsolete.

I have finished fable 2 but i mainly did the story part and i was just wondering if there is anyway to get weapons that are “legendary” without having xbox live…

I have to disagree with you What?(to the name not the question) bows were not obsolete in the 1700(closest date to the colonial era clothing I could find) they were still used for game hunting and surely if they thought of inserting a toy pop gun they should have inserted one long bow at least.

I like the guns, I’ve never played the first fable but i really like the second one. An improvement i think they gcould have made was less boundries ( force wlls) jumping and diving underwater, but thats just my opinion. and im pretty sure there is a legendary longbow.. i have a egendary katana, The Daichi. And yes you can get legendaries without Xbox Live.

Fable 2 is the best game ever made! At first i was a little disappointed because i was under the impression it was going to be more like Oblivion but then i started playin and the game is strait hood. Anyone who dosen’t like this game should have their nut sac fall off. Long bows were gay anyways in Fable. Everyone used the crossbows anyways because they were more powerful

Well, since this has simply turned into everyone’s opinion, I thought I’d add mine.

I personally agree that Fable’s combat system is nice (especially with high ‘brutal styles’) and that the guns are a great addition. I also agree that the use of willpower is quite tough to get your head around, but it is easy once you get the hang of it. My Fable character is a holy will-user and I haven’t died. I still have like 2 on physique.

I also like the fact that Fable opens to more than one crowd, I mean that the life-living, family side of it could pose a totally different game. I love just making money then buying entire towns overnight!

Finally, there’s no need to be horrible about either country. Microsoft don’t exactly have a golden reputation and money is the thing.

america only get it 1st because their 1 of the high paying countries and since theres more people over there then more money will be made quicker. Tho i have to admit britain deserve it first : O )

hey i got fable 2 the first day it was released n it kicks ass although it has a short story line. I finished it in a couple of days and hav all 5star abilities and own just about every shop and house and if any 1 is having trouble geting money and xp make sure u hav a few properties 2 rent out and then quit the game save it first and change the year in ur xbox clock and date setings 1 year ahead and wen u start playing again youl recieve 1 years worth of rent. this works u hav my word.and with that money buy the potion shop and all the will skill and strength potions. this is quick and easy if u dnt feel like fighting things. i hav nearly got everything in the game even ledgendary weapons so if ne 1s got questions im happy 2 help.

I finished it last night but I wanted to take my time it was to short n to much like fable 1 it need some more kickass weapons even thought I liked the ones the had in this my fav was the enforcer its heli awesome n they needed a better final boss that stupid great spire shard sucked donkey dick

Alright I’ll admit Fable 2 cool yeah i have a dog three wifes more property and renown then should be allowed… Oh and a small army of children, but really it lost the feel of the first fable. I love the heroes guild and none of your opposition is hard to beat at all. The weapons are very few compared to the first and wow magic is gone not nearly as cool as the first. The thing that annoys me the most though is the outfits… I have a sword, gun, and magic and run around in gentlemen clothe which is for an normal person WHERE is the ARMOR. I miss plate armor and what not… Come on. This game is good but to compare it to the first shouldn’t be done at all they did good don’t get me wrong, but there are not nearly as cool of quest and no bosses that take any skill… What needs to happen is they take the two and merge them go back to the old controls and quest but keep the new feature kids dogs and such.

I thought it was bad at first, but its pretty good.

I mean the guns. Also it’s easy to be a mage if you know how. Put a slow time spell in the third slot, that gives you enough time to let out the biggest spell you got.

I’m disappointed by the addition of guns- I feel like it takes it out of that ye-olde fantasy era, and pulls us closer to “this” world. Additionally, I am VERY annoyed that they removed longbows- sure, there’s still crossbows, but let’s face it- they look ATROCIOUS.

Fable 2 isn’t here just yet- but I won’t be running out to get it the day it’s released. From what I’ve seen, it feels too much like a different game.

yeah, a few. If your super corrupt you can get a mace from a demon door, if you do both farm quests you can get a blundercross, a pistol from the shooting, a cleaver from donating 10k to the temple and a few others

I think the guns are nice, but why bring back the crossbow? Why not the longbow? It may have done less damage, but it was faster than the crossbow.

since this is turning into a place for argument I feel I should settle the dispute but Im not going to do that because I’m lazy instead Ill add another subject to the matter.
Anyone else here think it would be a hell of a lot better of a game if they put in different pets like a hawk for example,
and next time at least add a storyline that lasts less than 45 minutes and doesn’t end up killing you’re wallet, pet, or renown.

The reason the game was released over in the states first is due to the translation costs of a european release. Spanish, German, Italian and French, to name but a few.

Fable 2 is certainly a vibrant and beautiful game but it seems to lack substance. People were excited at the prospect of actually having jobs in the game. Stopping a little dot along an arch is certainly not what I had in mind. You could have worked on that aspect a little harder Mr Moloney. The storyline, whilst engaging, is definately too short lived.

That said, Whilst it lasted I was as hooked as a recently reeled in carp on smack.
I quite liked the gun aspect of the game. As previously mentioned it’s fitting to the time period. The few ‘legendary’ weapons I’ve found are certainly asphetically pleasing but once you’ve got master weapons with several augment slots, the legendary weapons are incredibly weak in comparison.

i thought the hole idea of guns was pretty cool but still its not always the best like its not as acurate as the od bows were and the melee weapons are great but could use work the main story quest is kinda short thy coulda made that longer and finally ive done evry quest found evry chest silver and normal and a few other glitches like ifnite money all the gargoyles and ifinite exp so email me at avatardt@telus.net and i did not glitch any of these my self

yea fable 2 is deffinatly better than the first one then guns are a deffinate good thing. i love the one shot kills starting after level 4 accuracy way better than the bow. and the us just got better. at least we dont have a hillbilly retard as a president anymore. OBAMA 4 LIFE!

I’m a writing student so I’ve had style, subject and structure manically etched into my brain with the the subtlety of a meat cleaver, that’s the reason I write this way. For the record my previous comment was actually a compliment. People writing in caps lock genuinely miff me off.

I don’t mean to patronise anyone here but there’s some DLC on the way, if anyone hasn’t heard about it. About three new dungeons, some new weapons, and quite a cool looking armour set. A little steep though at the asking price of 800 points. My guess is you’ll be able to plow through it in under an hour and it’s been confirmed that there will be no achievements to work on.
Personally I think they needed to work on the wealth of glitches this game has first. I’m pretty lucky as the worst I’ve had is falling through random scenery but I’ve heard from a lot of people that there’s a very irritating bug that stops you from doing quests or even open treasure chests. It’s a bit sad that the developers are turning a blind eye to this.

The game is too easy. The required skill to play is that of a two-year old. There should be no auto-aiming and no guns. Only bows that require manual aiming and melee weapons. This would make ranged fighting more interesting and challenging.

Increase AI difficulty by 500% or at least offer the option for players to change this setting.

The enemies might as well explode anytime you get within 20 feet of them. Looks for this feature in Fable 3.

And why the hell did they remove armor? Armor was sweet in Fable 1.
