With the launch of the T-Mobile G1 hitting stores tomorrow, October, 22 people are already asking what the next Google Android will look like. The new phone will obviously be called the G2, and one thing is certain, it should be able to learn from the G1 and become one of the best handsets on the planet.
Our friends over at Phones Review have managed to get hold of some mockup photos of the T-Mobile G2, and boy do they look good. Who would have thought that people would stop talking about the G1 for a bit and start talking about what the G2 will be like.
Phones Review tell us that the new T-Mobile G2 will have less dead space, will be flush, have a tilting screen with twice the resolution. With Google throwing its weight behind the phone, it should have some of the best software on any handset.

Looks like: THE.PERFECT.PHONE.
Seriously, I’d buy this phone in a heart beat. I also LOVE the tilting screen idea. It’s essential and I can’t believe the company that made the HTC Tytn II didn’t include the tilt joint on the G1…
Here’s for a magnificent G2.
the tilting thing is on the cupcake update. I got it. It also has an onscreen keyboard that is kind of hard to get used to
damn cant wait to get my g2 i was getting g1 but i heard about thois one and no i know what phone i want.
i wonder if they will make a g3…
Hold on man. This is a concept done on photoshop. Get the G1. The G2 is still in the works, nobody knows how it will look like. T-Mobile already purchased the G1, G2, G3, G4 names online.
whats it mean that the phone is going to be “flushed” or have “less dead space”…
A “flush” screen, means a screen that is on the same level of the rest of the phone, and has very little plastic separating it from the edges of the phone. The iPhone’s screen is a flush touchscreen.
“Dead space” refers to all the black plastic on the front of the phone which is not occupied by the screen or by buttons.
Hey um..I got one question..What’s a tilt screen?
A tilt screen is a screen that can be tilted or “bent” up when it’s slid out. It allows you to easily view the screen when it’s placed on a desk. A famous example of a tilt screen would be the HTC Tytn II phone. You can google for it and take a look.

Looks absolutely amazing, If this image comes true, I will buy it IMMEDIATLY. Those people who keep saying that the HTC HD will be the next G2, can honestly go to hell, because that’s the worst idea I’ve ever heard. If Google decide to go with the touch HD they have absolutely no business sense at all. Buyers don’t want another iphone competitor they want a google phone for christs sake!
I realize this is a bit of a late rebuttal, but come on ike… It’s not about “Google” having a “phone”… Google isn’t concerned with the hardware. If they were, they would design THEIR OWN, just like apple has… But, since Google isn’t worried about the hardware, they are concerned with the SOFTWARE, they come out with a couple of pilot phones that they brand as their own, giving the general consumer AND the cell manufacturers a taste of what can be done with some decent hardware and and a kick ass Mobile OS and vola! You have a Google phone! Google isn’t trying to brand a “Google Phone”, they are trying to brand Google as the platform that RUNS MOBILE CELL PHONES. That’s where apple went wrong. Apple keeps trying to brand their own software on-top of their own hardware. It is a business model that works… somewhat, but always seems to fail in the long-run. I’m not an Apple hater and I’m not saying they don’t know how to do business, but I will say that the governing board of Apple has always been a bit narrow sighted…
You might say that Microsoft has already branded mobile phones with the Windows Mobile OS… Well, that’s fine but have you actually seen a windows mobile phone that does what an iPhone or Android can do? Microsoft can have the latest greatest hardware and their OS will still run like crap on it… (PC or Phone, take your pick)
What about the Palm Pre with their “Mobile Web” os? Palm has always taken the same route as Apple: “We make our own Software for our own hardware and we don’t want anyone else to use it!” So, Palm will have the same problem as Apple… A small line of phones with a killer OS, made exclusively by Palm that only a handful of Mobile carriers will sell…
As a little history lesson, before the G1 released, there were (if my memory recalls) only two US based cell phone manufacturers that were part of the open handset alliance: Motorola and HTC. Now that the G1 has released, Guess what! Samsung, LG, Toshiba and Sony are onboard! So, there are now a total of 6 US based cell manufacturers that will at some point, probably create phones to handle Android… (don’t blast me on some rough numbers here, but,) 6 cell manufacturers offering Android, each with let’s say 3 phones per year, that’s 18 different flavors of cell phones (hardware) running android, against 1 Apple iPhone + OS, and 1 Palm + Web Mobile OS per year… Which OS do you think will win?
i choosed the HTC Touch HD because of its big screen and nice design.. just a similar phone with nice design, a big display and an Operating system like the android or general linux is… i never thought about business… lol…
