Microsoft to launch Global Anti-Piracy Day

Microsoft have announced that they are to launch Global Anti-Piracy Day, this will be a series of education initiatives as well as enforcement actions. The new campaign is to hit 49 countries on 6 continents, and is hoped to combat the trade of pirated and counterfeit software.

The program consists of intellectual property awareness campaigns, local law enforcement training, educational forums, engagements with partner businesses and finally new legal actions against alleged software counterfeiters and pirates.

Microsoft will be working closely with communities, local law enforcement agencies and national governments around the world to help combat this issue. Microsoft hopes that this Global Anti-Piracy Day will help to protect their customers as well as their partners.
