When the PS3 was launched last year it came bundled with MotorStorm, this was a raw all out racing game which was total carnage. The rough road surface and constant danger of crashing into hard rock surfaces, added to the excitement of the game.
Eighteen months on there is a sequel to MotorStorm, Pacific Rift. It seems that developers have listened to gamers, and tried to fix many of the bugs that the first game suffered from. There are now alternative routes, tweaked boost system as well as a more definition for each vehicle class.
MotorStorm Pacific Rim for the Sony PS3 offers up 16 race tracks, all waiting to take you out as you fight for grip while racing on mud, dirt, grass, water and whatever you can think of. Sadly, the game does not live up to all the hype. There seems to be no skill to keeping your vehicle on the track, it is just close your eyes and hope for the best. This is not a true racing game; instead it is just there just to have some fun with your mates.

After playing the demo, I have to agree with this “Preview” since the game is not out yet.
lol. No skill required? The same was often said by n00b players on the first one. The skill is in knowledge of the tracks… incuding every lump, bump and rock. It’s takes a lot more time than the average racing game to learn the tracks, but once you do, you can seem unbeatable by n00b’s.
Motorstorm was great fun online, often resulting in heartstopping, pad clenching final corners. Can’t wait for Pacific Rift.
