Motorola Google Android Smartphone delayed until 2009’s second quarter

With just two days to go until the launch of the T-Mobile G1, the first Google Android Smartphone, they have managed to beat the competition to get the first Google phone to the end-user. Motorola is all set to be second, but now their version of the Google phone has been delayed.

The Motorola Google Android does not like it will debut until the second-quarter of 2009, giving the T-Mobile plenty of time to shift a huge amount of units. The great thing about launching the phone after the launch of T-Mobiles version, is that they are able to see how well received it is by customers.

Motorola have put themselves in a great position, they already have all the design features worked out, but they could change to meet with consumer demand. The Motorola Google Android is thought to have an iPhone style touchscreen, as well as a slide out QWERTY keyboard.

  1. What makes you say that it’s been delayed? The businessweek article merely says that “Many analysts have been expecting Motorola to roll out an Android phone in December or January.”

Moto didn’t announce when they were releasing the phone and most of the info in the source article has been leaked rather than come from Motorola.
