Dell Inspiron Mini 9 partition error: half available disk space
By: Peter Chubb | October 20, 2008
Are you the owner of a Dell Inspiron Mini 9 netbook, the Ubuntu Linux model which comes with either an 8GB or 16GB solid state disk? If you are, then you had better check your amount of disk space, as you could have a fault.
Some of these Dell netbook’s are only using half of their available disk space. Dell have said that the problem is caused by them using the same disc image to format all of the units that ship with Ubuntu, no matter what size the disk was in your Dell Inspiron Mini 9.
Dell have a couple of option for you to try, so you can fix the problem. The first is by using a USB DVD drive, then you can try and use the system restore disc, this will reinstall Dell’s custom version of Ubuntu.
