BMW all-electric Mini E going to the U.S.
By: Peter Chubb | October 20, 2008 | Leave a CommentNo one can deny the great job that BMW have done with the re-launch of their version of the Mini, but they know that they have to keep changing with the times to keep up the appeal of the vehicle. BMW understand that people are looking for more environmentally friendly vehicles, even thought the BMW already has a low CO2 output.
The BMW Mini E features an all-electric engine, which produces 150kW, that’s 204HP. The electric motor is fed electric from a high-performance rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The car is completely silent and is totally free of emissions.
On a single charge, the Mini E will have a maximum range of 240 kilometers, that’s 150 miles. 500 of these BMW Mini E’s will be sent to California, New York and New Jersey, as part of a pilot project involving private and corporate customers.
