Mozilla Thunderbird 3 Alpha and Firefox: First Impressions
By: Daniel Chubb | October 19, 2008 | Leave a CommentThis last week saw the launch of Mozilla Thunderbird 3.0 Alpha, and this update has some major improvements to the open source e-mail client (prerelease codenamed Shredder).
The third Alpha release of Mozilla Thunderbird includes some significant new features thanks to the fast development of Shredder. There have been over 280 fixes and improvements to Thunderbird alpha 3.
Just like the new quick bookmarking feature in Firefox 3, you can now quickly add contacts to the address book in alpha 3 by clicking the star icons that you find next to individual e-mail addresses in message headers. In the new message view you will find some contextually relevant controls, these include buttons to delete, forward, and reply to a message.
