Sony were hoping to have a strong holiday season with the launch of LittleBigPlanet, but has now been dealt a huge blow as they are to delay the release of the much anticipated game. The game has been released to reviewers, but the public has yet to see the game and will have to wait a little longer now.
The reason for the delay is that LittleBigPlanet will have to have part of its soundtrack changed, as it could possibly be an offence to Muslims. Sony released a statement that it had been brought to its attention that a track on the background music contained two expressions which can be found in Qur’an.
Sony said that they are now rectifying the situation; they also offered an apology for any offence that it might have caused. LittleBigPlanet will now be released on October 27, a week late. The worldwide release will now be on November 14.

i think that thngs like thi are completely ludicrus, 2 words in a soundtrack in the whole of the game? things are getting tighter and tighter now. i can understand if there were a large number of words taken from the Qu’ran and media molecule had done something to offend those words. i dont believe media molecule did this on purpose and i can tell they are deeply ashamed for their 1st great game to be jeopardised by a Different religion. i know from now on that if media molecule plan to create more games they will make sure nothings offensive towards anyone, or anything.
i feel sorry for media molecule and just hope you dont get a bad name due to this terribly obscure happening.
(note) this wont effect my feelings towards you and i wont remember any of this and take it against you. i preordered Little Big Planet the first day http://www.GAME.co.uk had it up for grabs.
thank you reading and best of luck to you
Just goes to show you how everyone is walking on eggshells when it comes to the religion of perpetual outrage. If it was “any” other religion, no one would care, or worry, about their physical safety. A sign of the times, I suppose.
the zealous followers of Islam that would be offended by this should not be using video games, their religion, if they follow it that strictly, forbids it.
At least these muslims hold on to something that may well turn out to be true - better this than being a slave to the material world that is ripping off the human race everyday - the idea of life being working hard all your lives & getting a tiny bit of ‘leisure time’ in return - paying hard earned taxes only for them to be squandered by political masters in the name of democracy - what an absolute pointless waste of time & effort - only for the soul to leave this material world with nothing. Think about it…
