SOCOM Confrontation vs Cod4 and Halo 3

this is the worst and most half-assed article EVAH.

SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Confrontation is the best, the graphics are stunning, the game play is perfect. And the game is very customizable from your characters clothes to maps weapons. This game also has an enormous fan base of loyal fans. Call of Duty 4: Moderm Warfare and Halo 3 can’t compete with SOCOM this game is a must have is extremely fun and addictive to play.

I dont agree.. socom looks great… until you start playing.. the guys moves all stiff and you can barely shoot anyone. reminds me of the mortall kombat type characters… all stiff and hard to move. cod4 blows this game away the graphics, the levels, the detail.. socom is off.

Hmmmm…. Yes poor article, even more however is the poor quality of the game! My xbox mate came over to see it (beacause he loved the last games) and I couldn’t get it working, he just shook his head in laughter (and rightfully so). It would be ok if this was a one off, but it is true that we are seriously lagging in the software department! So after 2.5 days of trying to download the corrupted patch I finally got it working, (which is totally unacceptable) Then all I longed for was the older versions of the game. Socom was never about graphics for me, so that doesn’t matter and neither do trophies. Yes I do like the headset even though it is a little heavy in the ear.

The only ppl who like this game are ppl that are addicted to the socom series. ANYBODY that has played other shooter game will agree with me that this game is garbage. It is a ONLINE ONLY game, well… you think they’d be able to perfect the online play. There is no party setup to join with your friends, and by the time your friends get to a game with you is already full. Ranked games are no respawn, you spend more time watching than playing. The graphics are equivalent to nintendo64, and the ranking system allows nothing to you. Buy resistance 2, now thats a real game.

Socom is nothing compared to halo 3 and COD4 they are 2 of the best selling games on the 360 the are more advanced in every way detail sloryline sound and challange i have played all the socom games and this one and all them combined dont stand up to halo 3 and COD4. I am a hug halo fan so i go wiht halo and COD4. if you got a problem with that you suck!!!

Socom is alright but will never be able to match COD4 the details and every thing looks like you are watching a movie when your playing COD4…end of discussion.

I don’t understand the people who where creating Socom!!!!! They killed the game by making it online only and on top of that they screwed up the textures of the game and map… Now the game looks really fake (lack of textures) and the models don’t look right… I compared the graphics to call of duty 4 and socom was “epic fail”!!! But the game play on the other hand does compensate, which is really contradicting…

I think the main problem with this particular socom game is that the new developer – Slant Six Games – took over socom after Zipper made all the previous ones, and they haven’t really done the game justice.

Many people I know who played socom agree that SOCOM 2 (PS2) was the best in the line so far, so Socom Confrontation should top that. I’m a UK-based gamer and Im having a lot of trouble playing SC online, perhaps because it hasn’t been released here – I can only play foreign servers.

When it’s released here at the end of november, most likely along with a new patch, then I’ll decide if i like it or not =]

THIS is my second post i agree with G-bizzle socom 2 was the best one on PS2 but halo 3 and COD 4 are still better. Defiantly better online play

Cod4 is for kids socom is for real men…… Keep on plyn that kiddie game, all you guys do on cod4 is run all over the maps like wild animals where is the fun in that?

I think those who were involved with socom from the start, i.e. socom one and two are going to favour the next-gen socom game over cod4 & resistance, etc.

Ultimately, I’m a fan of socom and I love the teamwork and strategy of it, but there is no way I would ever argue that socom is a game better finished than cod4. Call of duty 4 is beautiful, it’s real pleasing on the eye and it has solid gameplay.

If you’re looking for an arcade shoot-em-up, go for the Call of Duty game; if you’re looking for a bit of strategy, real teamwork with other people, and something a bit different to the generic deathmatches you find on other games, have a look at Socom.

A final word of warning to anyone about Socom; it’s not a finished game yet, Slant Six Games are working around the clock to get it done. When the game is released in Europe at the end of November is when you can properly appreciate what’s going on in the game.

omg you people are morons. for one socom 2 was the best socom ever!! COD4 is a great game. butttt socom confrontation is so horrible. what the hell happened to sureshot?? i know you can customize the controller but that is still limited. i customized to the COD4 preset and i couldn’t customize 2 of the buttons. that makes a huge difference. socom c. lacks precision and accuracy. you run around jump from side to side and pray and spray. GARBAGE!!! COD4 has precision. and whats up with the lag on socom c. one sec im running then the next im stuck in place. half of the maps are dark. why would i want to have night vision the entire time?!?!? it takes forever to join a game. i have to have a lot of time on my hands if i just want to play a map or two before work. and setting your preset players before is retarded . it makes the game slower. this game is so horrible. im going back to COD4. you guys can stay on the game and watch around the corners lol

i really like this game. i played call of duty 4 for the longest time, i think i spent like 7 days online on that game cause it was so good. this is the first socom game i have ever played and i like it alot better then cod4. the first day it came out was the only day i experienced any problems with the game. since then i might of got kicked out like 2 times. your shots are very accurate and there is pretty much no lag so if u hit someone there going to die. i killed like 3 people with one 20 round clip. i dont think ive ever done that in cod 4 not even on hardcore mode and thats all i played. dont listen to all these bad reviews cause this is a great game. and no one should be comparing this game to halo cause halo isnt even close to the same game. it takes like 500 shots to kill someone in that game lol, dont get me wrong i like it but u cant compare the 2. honesly this is my favorite online game ever so dont listen to the crappy reviews get the game and see for yourself.

that game is the biggest dissapointment in the entire socom series, and i actually liked 3 and combined assault.

but six slant does not know what the flip they are doing; their pitiful attempts to bring the game back to a glory socom 2 attained failed very miserably. only the new in-game controls can keep you interested, like rolling around in prone or using sixaxis to lean left, right, duck and stand up. the detail: nice, the mode features: horrible. it cant keep you hooked on like how socom 2 worked its magic on you. and if you find someone willing to use a mic, good luck, cause every asshole on that fliping game likes to be a silent flip and play the same fliping maps over and over and over and over. how many times can you people play fliping crossroads? seriously. i know the map is a all-time favorite and looks beautiful rebuilt on the PS3, but that seriously cannot be the only map you want to play online. the only map i can really enjoy is urban wasteland, and again, what kind of fliping urban map is that with so much fliping wide open spaces? can i get a urban map with fliping tight alleys, decent rooftops and numerous street (IE Sujo)? and what the flip is this bullpoop about staying in the desert theater? i want to be in a fliping jungle from time to time, you think people love, love the desert?

six slant, you horribly and utterly failed with confrontation, give it back to fliping zipper. RETURN SOCOM TO ITS GLORY BEFORE 3!!!!

socom II FTW!!

Hao3 is a good game, I wouldn’t want to recomend it to some one because it’s old and the ony people that play it are fan boy of X box and the game is great but, If I had an X box 360 which my cousin has I played Halo 3 at his house, but I got bored of it in couple of hours because I didn’t wasn’t the same level to COD4 A.K.A ”Game of the year” And in my opinion Halo 3 shouldn’t be compared to COD4 because it wasn’t even the best game for X box 360 for 2007. I was schocked when Bioschock won, Which came out on the PS3, And the point of all of this was that if X box 360 fan boys out there think that if Halo3 was still a great game, And they stil play it after 3 years after it’ release then they are full of shit if I had it, mine would have been siting in a game stop right now and for X box 360 fan boys.
I’m not a fan boy of the Ps3, but I jut like it better don’t get mad cause it’s called opinion And you houldn’t get pissed of about PS3 having better games,We have every game X box have exept Gears and Halo, But we MGS4 which got better rating then both of them and we got Havenly words, Little Big Planet, Resistance, Grand thrismo, God of War3, Uncharted and we got alot more and the point being Soccom was created for only Online purposes only because X box 360 fan boys, keep coming up execuses for people not to buy the PS3 like no vibration for the controler, Maybe X box fans forgot who created the vibration function in the controler, Maybe you Dumb asses forgot which system was the first system that Grand theft Auto Exclusive to And Sony was so great to let one of the best games to be on X box And if Sony can create games like Resistance, MGS4, Uncharted , And other games that are Exclusive to PS3, You haven’t even seen the companys and it’s workers full Potential And in My Opinion X box 360 is great system and I would like to recomend people to choose a System like X box 360 or PS3 Please don’t get a Wiiiiiii it sucks reasons, Gay Games , Crappy Graphics , The whole system is just GAY so Don’t by it

Ok after reading all of the posts i’ve picked up two things.
-Half the people posting have not played both games
-People are extremely biased towards one or the other w/out giving a good reason
Here is my opinion on the games. I think you will find the more mature, serious gamers playing SOCOM. The guys that want a game with team work, strategy, and recoil, where you can’t take a load of bullets and be fine.
The gamers that want more of a fast paced game with a lot of run and gun will be playing CoD4. No team work, compared to SOCOM that is, and no recoil. SOCOM is hands down is the more tactical game. But its learning curve is much harder than CoD4′s or Halo’s. That is why the younger kids don’t like it as much.
I prefer SOCOM. The team work is what it comes down to for me. In CoD4 a lot of people go for kills and not the objective. If you do that in SOCOM you’re going to get booted out of the room. I’m one of the guys that actually liked SOCOM 3. Not so much CA but it is still way better than any other shooter out there currently.
So like I said before, the more mature gamers will be playing SOCOM, the less, will be playing the other games.

Comparing Socom to games like COD:4 and Halo 3 is like comparing apples and Oranges. you are comparing a third person- over the shoulder game, to First person shooters. A better Comparison would be Rainbow Six: Vegas witch is an awsome game, I havent had a chance to play Socom yet, so you guys will need to tell me how they stack up against each other.

And I doubble posted because I needed to reply to this, I know you ddi not just give Halo 3 and CoD:4 as examples of realistic gameplay? I don’t even need to point out how rearded the Halo comment was because anyone can see that, but while CoD:4 may LOOK nice, a it dosen’t play it at all.

You cant compare those games, cod4, halo, and socom pretty much plain out different, i personally like all of them, but im going to say i like socom more though b/c i love how solid the gameplay and the realism the game has..

……. this….is…..just…..sad. Why cant we all agree that halo is for the imaginative mind(really, has stuff that makes it strange and fun) cod 4 is for those who like going for the kills, and that socom is for those who are into strategy and tactical gunning so lets just shut up and all just agree that wii games get a little boring in a couple od days
