SOCOM Confrontation vs Cod4 and Halo 3

While having a read through N4G, they had found a great podcast which talks about SOCOM Confrontation. It discusses the flaws in the game, but does say that the gameplay is solid. A number of topics get discussed, but it is the gamer’s comments that caught my attention.
Some gamers have been commenting, saying that SOCOM Confrontation is a better game than CoD4 and Halo 3. That is a big statement that is a big statement to make; both Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 are great games, as another game will have to be very special to be better.
While people have compared COD4 and Halo 3 for obvious reasons, how can gamers find SOCOM Confrontation better? One comment did pick up on a great point, the accuracy of your shots on SOCOM are awesome, when you shoot in the head it is a headshot., unlike in cod4 where there is so much lag you usually have to shoot in front of someone in order to kill them. Is that a valid assessment?

SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Confrontation is the best, the graphics are stunning, the game play is perfect. And the game is very customizable from your characters clothes to maps weapons. This game also has an enormous fan base of loyal fans. Call of Duty 4: Moderm Warfare and Halo 3 can’t compete with SOCOM this game is a must have is extremely fun and addictive to play.
I dont agree.. socom looks great… until you start playing.. the guys moves all stiff and you can barely shoot anyone. reminds me of the mortall kombat type characters… all stiff and hard to move. cod4 blows this game away the graphics, the levels, the detail.. socom is off.

Hmmmm…. Yes poor article, even more however is the poor quality of the game! My xbox mate came over to see it (beacause he loved the last games) and I couldn’t get it working, he just shook his head in laughter (and rightfully so). It would be ok if this was a one off, but it is true that we are seriously lagging in the software department! So after 2.5 days of trying to download the corrupted patch I finally got it working, (which is totally unacceptable) Then all I longed for was the older versions of the game. Socom was never about graphics for me, so that doesn’t matter and neither do trophies. Yes I do like the headset even though it is a little heavy in the ear.

The only ppl who like this game are ppl that are addicted to the socom series. ANYBODY that has played other shooter game will agree with me that this game is garbage. It is a ONLINE ONLY game, well… you think they’d be able to perfect the online play. There is no party setup to join with your friends, and by the time your friends get to a game with you is already full. Ranked games are no respawn, you spend more time watching than playing. The graphics are equivalent to nintendo64, and the ranking system allows nothing to you. Buy resistance 2, now thats a real game.
Socom is nothing compared to halo 3 and COD4 they are 2 of the best selling games on the 360 the are more advanced in every way detail sloryline sound and challange i have played all the socom games and this one and all them combined dont stand up to halo 3 and COD4. I am a hug halo fan so i go wiht halo and COD4. if you got a problem with that you suck!!!
Socom is alright but will never be able to match COD4 the details and every thing looks like you are watching a movie when your playing COD4…end of discussion.
I don’t understand the people who where creating Socom!!!!! They killed the game by making it online only and on top of that they screwed up the textures of the game and map… Now the game looks really fake (lack of textures) and the models don’t look right… I compared the graphics to call of duty 4 and socom was “epic fail”!!! But the game play on the other hand does compensate, which is really contradicting…

I think the main problem with this particular socom game is that the new developer - Slant Six Games - took over socom after Zipper made all the previous ones, and they haven’t really done the game justice.
Many people I know who played socom agree that SOCOM 2 (PS2) was the best in the line so far, so Socom Confrontation should top that. I’m a UK-based gamer and Im having a lot of trouble playing SC online, perhaps because it hasn’t been released here - I can only play foreign servers.
When it’s released here at the end of november, most likely along with a new patch, then I’ll decide if i like it or not =]
THIS is my second post i agree with G-bizzle socom 2 was the best one on PS2 but halo 3 and COD 4 are still better. Defiantly better online play
You cant compare those games, cod4, halo, and socom pretty much plain out different, i personally like all of them, but im going to say i like socom more though b/c i love how solid the gameplay and the realism the game has..
