HPQ Stock show us something very interesting, even though Hewlett-Packard still maintains the lead in the global market share for computers, Acer is firmly knocking at their door. Acer has had a major boost, thanks to great notebook sales.
Acer has managed to dethrone HP when it comes to notebook sales in a number of important markets, from Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
Hewlett Packard has still maintained their Global lead, but with Acer now in third after Dell, it shows that the PC and notebook market is all set to hot up in time for the fourth-quarter. In a recent report, HP was slow off the mark to enter in to the mini-notebook market, which had a huge affect on sales, and in turn their shares.
ASUS and Acer are the big two when it comes to low-cost notebooks, and with a credit crisis fast approaching, HP will have a harder time trying to shift mid to high-end notebooks. HP had held back on the introduction of mini-notebooks, fearing that it could affect the sales of their existing notebook markets.
HP’s third-quarter is the first time that they lost their first place in sales in EMEA, sine the computer giant merged with Compaq back in 2002.
