New MacBooks: No Blu-ray

We have covered a lot of news about the new Apple Macbooks and how they have some great new features, but then these next-generation laptops from the Mac brand have some hardware missing.

Where is the Blu-ray Disc integration? If it were not as standard, we would at least expect an option to have a version of the Apple MacBook or Pro with Blu-ray. Sadly this is not the case, am I the only one that would want a nice new Macbook with Blu-ray?

Steve Jobs did touch on this point in his keynote, he didn’t say future MacBooks weren’t getting Blu-ray but instead said, “we’re waiting till things settle down and Blu-ray takes off”. Personally we think Apple should get stuck in now, but then Steve Jobs has built a multi billion-dollar empire on being right. Would you want a Macbook with Blu-ray?

That is a big flaw with Apple. If Steve Jobs don’t like it, you can’t have it. For the astronomical price a BD player should be included.
