
New MacBook GPU without the Apple Laptop
By: Peter Chubb | October 16, 2008 | Leave a CommentThe hot news about the new Apple MacBook was that it was all change in the graphics area. The old range of MacBook’s used Intel GPU’s; the new range has changed over to the nVidia GeForce 9400M GPU.
The reason that Apple changed to this new GPU was because of its improved performance over the old Intel GPU. There is some great news about the graphics card; it has now been made available for all notebook manufacturers.
The nVidia 9400M has at least 5x the performance that the Intel’s GMA 4500MHD had, The GPU has full support for, HD video decoding, Shader Model 4 visuals Hybrid SLI, PhysX compatibility and the much heralded CUDA base. We are still not sure which notebook manufactures will be included in the list, but we should learn that soon.
