Microsoft say Xbox 360 can handle MGS4

The boss over at Xbox Live has been saying that he would love to see MGS4 on the Xbox 360. We covered a story yesterday, which said that Konami’s Yoshitaka Arai was working on trying to bring the Metal Gear Solid series to the Xbox 360 console.

This news has caused a huge stir in the gaming world, and for once, all for the right reasons. John Schappert, has said that the games console can certainly handle MGS4, and has been full of praise for Kojima-san’s masterpiece.

There is nothing worse than having such a great game like Metal Gear Solid 4, only available for the Sony PS3. Gamers worldwide have been campaigning for the game to makes its way to the Xbox 360. Are you one of those who would like to see MGS4 on the Microsoft Xbox 360?

Whats funny about all this is Kojima said himself less cutscenes and more game on the next metal gear game he makes . 360 can handle MGS4 no matter what they say. ( 360 has more mem then PS3 FACT ) but all i can say is who care i guess PS3 needs at least one good game lol because let me think what else do they have ……………………………………………………hmmmmmmmmmmmm nevermind.

@ Tommy : Fact - Both systems have 512M of RAM. The 360 doesn’t have more, it’s just easier for developers to access the full 512 on the 360 b/c it’s shared. Whereas the PS3 has dedicated cpu/gpu RAM. It can still be accessed tho.

Fact the 360 has 1GB of ram. Known fact. Oh and it doesn’t look like you know that the graphic card on the PS3 only has 256MB of video memory while the graphic card on the Xbox 360 has 512MB of video memory. The overall system of the Xbox 360 is better than the PS3 except for cell processor and blu-ray drive in the PS3. I am not totally convinced that the PS3 has enough of a system backing up the cell processor to really push it. Thus Sony can claim that developers wont ever be able to take full advantage of the PS3 hardware.

The falling sales of the PS3 are evidence that they have an over-priced console. The dwindling economy isn’t going to help Kojima’s case either. Personally, MGS4 should be on 360 because a majority of potential PS3 buyers/PS2 fanboys (such as myself) got the 360 because it was cheaper than the PS3.

Of course it was just a mistake. But then again was it? haha
Everyone thinks its some big conspiracy! :-P grow up…who cares, if your like me you own all the systems so your covered!

Rofl, the 360 doesn’t have a gig of RAM. You’re dreaming. Everyone knows both machines have 512M of RAM. The 360 has 512M of shared DDR3 @ 700MHZ, and the PS3 has 256M of XDR @ 3.2g dedicated to the CPU, and 256M of DDR3 @ 700MHZ dedicated to the GPU. Get your facts straight.

The 360 only has 512mb ram. No more no less. The consoles are reletively equal in terms of power. It doesn’t matter what the people say. Raw power is tilted a tad more toward the PS3 but graphical power is tilted towards the 360. If utilized correctly though, the PS3 could create some nicer looking games, then again, none of the companies have actually used multi-threading on the 360’s three Cores. Even Cliffy B has stated that they haven’t used it. There wil always be room to improve game quality/performance on both consoles. The only real limitations between the 360 and the PS3 is memory and access to what is there. but if were talking about total amount of memory, the 360 actually has 10mb embedded ram on the GPU so it actually has 522 mb ram. That really only helps the shading though. PS3 = 360 and vise-versa.

Who cares what system the game comes out on anyway. 360 version equals more money for MGS 5 development.

Personally, I don’t want MGS4 on my Xbox360! The biggest reason is that Japanese Humor really irks me! Every Japan based game is plagued with cutesy little jokes that horribly ruin the atmosphere of the game. Either that or the main character looks too feminine.

For the record, I’ve been living in Miyoshi, Japan for about 5 years and counting.

  9. Nick says:

The 360 and ps3 have 512mb of RAM each, the 360’s is unified and the ps3’s isnt. also the 360 is more efficient in the use of its RAM i think it only uses 32mb compared to the ps3’s 96mb for certain things. the 360 GPU is more powerful, and the CPU’S are about the same

    PS3 FTW.
