
Jaguar Land Rover to cut 198 jobs from UK workforce
By: Peter Chubb | October 16, 2008 | Leave a CommentBREAKING NEWS: Jaguar Land Rover has announced that they are to cut 198 jobs from their workforce in the UK, the car manufacturer currently employs 15,000 in the UK. This news has come as a big blow to the auto industry.
Jaguar Land Rover is to seek voluntary redundancies from their Merseyside, Birmingham and Solihull plants. The car maker has also said that a number of design and engineering plants could be affected by these job cuts.
The auto industry as a whole is feeling the effects of this current downturn in the market. Jaguar Land Rover could end up having to lay even more people off in the near future, a result caused by people looking for more fuel-efficient vehicles.
