T-Mobile G1 phone may get Silverlight, not iPhone 3G

Microsoft have been keeping a watchful eye on things, as they are deciding if they want to allow their Flash competitor Silverlight on to the two big handsets. Microsoft said that they are keeping a watchful eye on the T-Mobile’s G1, Google’s Android platform. The software giant has totally ruled out Silverlight going to the Apple iPhone 3G.
Microsoft’s vice president of their .NET developer division, Scott Guthrie, said that Microsoft had approached Apple about putting Silverlight on the iPhone, but like the Adobe Flash Player, the talks never got that far.
Guthrie did add that it is possible that G1 is a distinct possibility for the use of Silverlight. The reason for this is because the new G1 is an open platform phone, which makes the use of third-party software easier to implement.
