Sony PS3 Update 2.50: Go Get It

I just tried the BBC web site and it does not appear that support for Flash 9 has been included.

Flash9 IS included, a browser check on the version shows: “PS3 9,0,123″ as it’s version string. (it used to be “PS3 7,0,0,4).

There is lots of funky client detection going on the BBC iPlayer, so I suspect that they are still making the now flawed assumption that PS3 does not do Flash9.

Using http://www.ps3iplayer.com works just fine, as it always has, I hope they update it, so we can view the H264 streams, not the old Wii ones…

As for the PS3 update, working very nicely seems like a performance boost too, with the XMB being a little more responsive The Trophy UI is improved, and I tried the shutdown after downloading and it works REALLY well. You can queue upto 12 downloads, and then set it to switch off after it’s downloaded and installed them.

when i updated my ps3 it didnt insatall all of my update it missed of the bit were it tells u when a player was last on line on my freinds list is there any way i can deleate the update abd reinstall it

2.50 does not have the flash player 9. That is what I was most amped about and it does not work! I’m so mad! AAAAARRRRGGGGHHH!!!! If it is installed then why wont fancast or southpark studios work when I go to them it says you need flash player 9! And when are we going to get the in game music player!!

Dont know where u are from but here in washington state we are all waiting for in game music update and flash 9 did not come w/ my 2.50 update, no need to be a jerk and call people liars, but rather point them in the right direction, your insults just show your lack of inteligence or patience which go hand in hand. so if someone who does know what the prob is with the north america update or the modus operandi please help me. Maybe it’s just my ps3 but it shows the original flash it came with.

Hey dumbass, all the versions are identical, there is no problem with the North American version, it’s identical to the Japanese and European versions, which works just fine with flash 9 content.

their is a flash9, the first thing i did with the new firmware was set it o shut down after 3 hours unused, and then i watch south park via the internet, works awesome, i’m pumped now for gta 4 trophies

when i updated 2.40 the writing became crystal clear but when 2.50 it turned blurry again im not sure but i think y have 2 get rid of the AV cable and use an HDMI cable

True story: My Ps3 lens broke down, so we send it back to Sony. After 3 weeks trying to send it back and 4 weeks waiting for the repairs.. They gave us a brand new one today. So I was happy and quickly went home where I connected it. It seems the update 2.50 was out and I had to update. Well, sure. I got no choise because it will block everything else, though I’d rather play my games inmediatly at the moment. During the download a red screen appeared, showing the ps3 has a software error that can’t be fixed. I get this screen just if I start it up. I HAVEN’T DONE ANYTHING BUT DOWNLOADING THE UPDATE! The electricity didn’t fall out or anything.. I’m trying to reach the shop on phone as I type this…

it says flash player 9 is on my ps3 but.. it does not work. when i try a web game from gaiaonline call zomg it say i need to update my flash player to 9. so it may as well not exist cause it dont work

Doesn’t work for me, either. I don’t care -what- version is on my PS3 now, what I do care about is that I can’t load flash video from http://www.cwtv.com and http://www.abc.com. The error varies between “Incorrect Flash Version” and “Operating System Not Supported”
