Gamers have been buzzing about the idea of MSG4 could be making its way to the Xbox 360. The rumors have only just started, but already fans of the Microsoft games console could finally see Snake in their living.
To help these rumors along, Metal Gear Solid creators, Konami have said that they are officially looking into the possibility. This is such a big deal; MGS has only been exclusive to Sony’s PlayStation games consoles.
Konami’s Yoshitaka Arai, has accepted that there is a huge demand for MGS4 to have an Xbox 360 version; he said that it is something that they are looking in to. How exited are you at the prospect of having Metal gear Solid on your Xbox 360?

The only thing that would restrict its port to the 360 are the cutscenes, which are overlong and ultimately boring. If the 360 gets more game and less cutscenes then it could be the best version of the game. If it gets less cutscenes and no more game, then 360 owners have a great 3 hours of gameplay to look forward too.
Demand? Try 250 million to 500 million in sales for MGS4 on the xbox 360.
Business is business Konami…. Money talks and Sony is not the industry leader that it was in the past. Microsoft pay Konami’s fine or bribe for breaking the exclusive agreement… and its game on for MGS4 on the 360. Woot Woot!
Do your research, MGS has been on the Xbox, PC and GC in the past.
“The only thing that would restrict its port to the 360 are the cutscenes, which are overlong and ultimately boring.”
Says the person who never played MGS4.
Sure its possible to port the game, though it won’t be done by Hideo Kojima (a perfectionist). Sure, trim down the cut scenes (the heart of the series, which happens to be the story), cut out some audio, drop resolution to 720p only, leave out Metal Gear Online, lower the audio/image quality, remove some excess features (photo exporting, training room, menu screen), compress the hell out of the game, then maybe it could fit on 2 DVD9s.
But for the love of God, keep the Playstation references in! I’d LOVE that! A port of MGS4 on 360 would never receive a 10/10 review score. It would be too watered down.
“Try 250 million to 500 million in sales for MGS4 on the xbox 360″
LOL! Really? Even though the global install base of 360 is only 20 million? Wow! Hey genious, PS3 has almost 20 million world wide and has been on sale for a shorter time!
What are you on about Nynja? I’ve got MGS4. It’s almost soul destroying to only have a spare few hours a night to play MGS4 and spend 1hr 45mins of that time watching tedious cutscenes.
Just because I’ve got a PS3 and MGS4 doesn’t mean I have to be a fanboy and say only good things about it.
You know what, I was playing MGS4 last night and when you’re actually playing it is a great game and when the cutscenes are short (10mins and under) they’re stunning. If they release a version for the 360 with more missions and more game and at the right price I think I’d be tempted to buy it again, for what could be the definitive version.
How often does someone as creative as Kojima get to go back and fix, by his own admission fanboys, the things he’d have done differently if he’d had his time again.
Mgs is the best god dam game ever!
no one can beat it
its amazing graphics
cutscenes
STORY~
gameplay
Characters
and the writers have doen a fantastic job
i do not have a xbox 360 or a ps3
so i havnt played mgs and it is killing me been as i have played
EVERY other mgs game ..apart from MGS acid thats crap
but if i was to choose i woould have a ps3 to everything Nynja has said
but it would be good for xbox 360 cause of the hole money issue
Hey Slippy Sloppy…. did you know you can “SKIP” the cut-scenes? If you they bother you that much, press START, then SKIP.
I’ve played and finished the game 6 times. I have never gone back to finish any game, ever, that many times. EVER. You can cry fanboy all you want, but just because I genuinely loved the game does not classify me as one.
Also.. How do you expect them to have extra content to a game that is already TOO BIG for 360? Don’t you know that Konami and Kojima said themselves, the major hurdle to bringing the game to the 360 is the size?
Damn people, READ.
No shlt Sherlock.
Trouble is if I skip the cutscenes I might miss the vital bit of info, buried deep in them that enables the story to make sense and how the hell do I know if I’ve got a bearable 10min or an excruciating 1.5hr cutscene coming up until I watch it.
It’s only too big because of the cutscenes, duh. Cut them out and it’ll probably fit on a CD.
Are you a troll fanboy or what. It’s not good enough for some people that I’ve got a PS3, I have love every game on it too.
