Toshiba announce Portege R600 ultraportable on MacBook Pro day

I am a bit shocked with Toshiba’s timing for announcing the official launch of their Portege R600 ultraportable. Today is the day when the world will be waiting for news on just one laptop, the new Apple MacBook Pro.

The new Portégé R600 weighs just 2.4 pounds and measures just 0.77 inches thick, or thin as the case may be. At present there are no details as to what CPU will be under the hood, but Toshiba should not keep us waiting long.

The new Toshiba Portege R600 has a LED backlit display and a 128 SSD. The laptop also comes with a USB Sleep-and-Charge / eSATA combo port. Prices should start from $2,099. As yet there are no details on a release date.
