Today we have seen the launch of the new Elmo Live doll around the world and we can tell you personally how good this little guy is, he is right here next to me now.
Compared to the last Elmo, this little guy seems so much more real. The last one performed different actions in a very straight and controlled manner, while Elmo Live does it all in a much more smooth way. Not to mention funny.
Elmo Live is a storytelling, dancing, and rapping doll. While we are never sure what toy will be the number one at Christmas, there is a good chance this could be it this holiday season. Other features include joke telling, MC skills, hugging abilities, and a lot more. Check out the video review of Elmo Live below.

Lots of them on shelves in Philly. Piled up high - no takers in sight.
Wait until the day after Thanksgiving, that’s when it will start getting crazy just like last year.
I remember seeing Elmos all over the place last year before Thanksgiving. Right now, people see them on the shelves and say to themselves with everything that is going on with the economy, I’ll get one later
Well I was so excited for my little girl to have this Elmo doll, and at the b’day party, (which was an Elmo theme), I saved it for the “grand finale” and it definitely lived up to it’s presentation. She loved it! That was mid December of 2008, and just one month later, it’s broken. Thought it was dead batteries, but nope, it’s not. He’ll start to talk and move and then stop mid-stream. No reason why because she hasn’t dropped him, he’s fallen over, but nothing major. I ordered it online and unfortunately did not save the online receipt so now I’m stuck with a $60+ dollar Elmo that now doesn’t work, he’s garbage.
I’m glad that I am not the only one Gena. My son Ari got one for Christmas 2008 from my mother (who didn’t think to keep the receipt). Same situation, about 2 months later Elmo started cutting off mid sentence and would stop moving. Tried changing the batteries….nothing. Just doesn’t work. Elmo has fallen but not hard enough of frequent enough to have broken it. I too am stuck with a elmo that doesnt work.
We’ve been rather unhappy with ours too. He still seems to work, but he can’t seem to do anything without falling over. After only a couple weeks of trying to play with him my 3 year old had better things to do. I have no intentions of buying anymore Elmo products in the future.
