Crackberry, Blackberry Fans fear Research In Motion Takeover
By: Peter Chubb | October 14, 2008 | Leave a CommentWe hit upon a tasty subject last week that the dip in Research In Motion stock value could make the company vulnerable to a takeover, Blackberry or Crackberry addicts as they are known were not happy at the prospect that Microsoft could lineup for a takeover deal.
RIM’S shares were worth $148 on the NASDAQ market, that was just four months ago. Now those same shares are worth just $62 from closing on Monday 13, October. This means that someone could have standing offer to purchase them for $50 per share.
All this is speculation of course, why would Microsoft want to purchase RIM as they would then be entering in to the Linux-based handset business. Do not read too much into the stack of RIM’S shares, as their profit for the last quarter was up 70 percent.
