Blizzcon 2008: Starcraft II will be released as a trilogy
By: Peter Chubb | October 14, 2008 | Leave a CommentWhile at Blizzcon 2008, one of the Starcraft II panel, Blizzard’s Rob Pardo had a bit of a surprise for us, rather than having Starcraft II as one real-time strategy game, it will now be released as a trilogy. It seems that the game has turned it to a bigger project than the developers could ever have thought.
The first game in the series will be called Wings of Liberty; this will focus on the Terrans. The game will seek to resolve the ongoing conflict between Jim Raynor and Kerrigan. The second game is to be called Heart of the Swarm, this will focus Zerg.
The final game in the Trilogy is to be called Legacy of the Void; this game will focus on the Protoss. Each of these releases will feature fully fledged campaigns, all with 26 to 30 missions. Do you welcome Starcraft II as a trilogy?
