The Compressed Air Car: MDI Airpod
By: Peter Chubb | October 13, 2008 | Leave a CommentWhen it comes to the state of the environment, we are all to blame as we drive around in our cars that run on Gas. These cars let out harmful emissions, which is why there is a need to find another fuel source to run our cars.
The MDI Airpod is a great start as it runs on compressed air. You have to forgive how strange the vehicle looks, but if you are going to radically change what powers a car, then why not radically change how the thing looks as well.
MDI have been trying to pioneer the compressed air technology for use in a car for almost 20 years. The compressed air system compresses a huge amount of air, which is then stored in tanks. The air that is stored is slowly released to help drive the pistons that move the car. The MDI Airpod should be available in showrooms sometime in 2009.
