Google Android T-Mobile HTC G1 has 1.5 Million Pre-orders

By: Peter Chubb | October 12, 2008 | 5 Comments

The Apple iPhone for many is the king of the cell phone, and before the handset came out it had a huge number of pre-orders. Well it seems that the T-Mobile G1, the first Google Android phone has got much more interest than we could have imagined.

The T-Mobile G1 has 1.5 million pre-sale order so far, on top of that another 2 million will be sold in retail stores. It shows that people really like the idea of owning a Google phone, as they know that it will be something special.

Google looks as though they are on track to make a big impact on the cell phone scene, is there no end to what this company can achieve. Are you one of those who have reserved a T-Mobile G1 phone?

Yes, I did reserve the Tmobile G1 (GOD PHONE), and changed my mind on owning the I-Phone (Jesus Phone), mainly because Jesus is only the Son of GOD, get my DRIFT!! This Smart Phone is way more advance in Technology, with a better OS than any phone on the market at this moment and aslong as it’s with GooGLe it will stay on top!! I ordered mines on the 8th of August. Can’t wait to play with it!!! lol

Bad analogy, JESUS = GOD and the iPhone certainly isn’t a gPhone. No one can deny that the iPhone is pretty and has done much to advance mobile technology but Google has created an OS that is poised to take over the market. The first gen Android phone (G1) will have a place in our hearts for years to come much like the first Nintendo does for many of us. It however is just the start of a cell phone revolution that will change the industry for ever. It is time that service providers get out of our way and give us the freedom that we have on our home computers – the ability to create or download custom applications tailored for the way we live our lives.

What I hear is lot of G1 haters I guess they feel the heat of the G1 on their tails… No need to run Iphone fans the G1 is not going to take over just yet.

Google has become who they due to one thing in the business its called patients my freinds and they will once again do the same to the Iphone and apple.

All in good time the G1 has no rush every happen with time all google has is time… and as you can 1.5 million people think the same..

so to all you G1 haters i say enjoy your time at the top for now soon you will be 2nd maybe even 3rd?..

Where are you people getting 1.5M G1s pre-ordered? Engadget reports that the initial T-Mo order was 60k. Now, the rumor is that the initial order has been tripled. That comes out to 180k, nothing like 1.5M. HTC itself said that it was expecting to produce only 500k of these phones this year. So, where is this 1.5M coming from?
