Xbox 360 Experience vs PlayStation 3 Home: virtual worlds collide

The biggest news in console virtual worlds has been the Sony PlayStation 3’s HOME or it may have seemed this way. Now that Microsoft has been marketing their own virtual world (Xbox 360 Experience), it looks like these worlds are about to collide.

This battle for gaming supremacy has moved on into the virtual world for not only gaming, but also new movie releases and more in a virtual way. In the new Xbox Experience, users will be able to hold virtual parties, download movies, play games, meet other gamers in virtual environments, and create avatars.

With Sony’s HOME, users will be able to attend virtual social events, watch new movies in virtual theatres, view television, play games, and also use the 3D universe to have your own virtual apartment where you can furnish and decorate it.

Which of these virtual worlds will be better? Time will give us this answer, and as the past shows us, launching first does not make you the winner.

I also agree with Daryl, Sony has has great ideas and brought us great technology: Blu ray, Sixaxis, WiFi, Internal powerblock, Bluetooth, (built in CHARGEABLE) wireless light controllers, Home, Motion sensitive eyetoy, other OS, list goes on. Its even funny how they even copied the Playstation controller, moved the joystick, and made it fatter…haha! If they were half as smart as the Japanese Companies, they would hire better engineers and put better hardware in the 360. Now they are trying to get the rights from Sony to use Blu ray on their next generation sh*t console. Years from now !!

how is microsoft copy cat Daryl look at all the same features sony put on the 360. Playstation store. The button in the middle that brings you to the dashboard. and so many more things so dont give that bs.

I honestly might switch over to PS3. Home sounds more interactive and fun. By the sound of xbox’s target audience who seem to be present here, I’d be willing to bet that Xbox doesn’t upgrade Experience (cloths aside), keeping it simple and wanting; like it is now in my opinion.

who the hell would play virtual chess or go to a virtual bowling alley over cod5, gears 2 or gta IV

  5. Harold says:

The systems are so close but one has Blu-Ray its a easy choice from thier

  6. NorthStar says:

I would Millsy. I have a lot of friends that live over sees in other countries that I love to hang out and talk, play pool, share stuff on the hdd, and even get the clan together to lauch games like Warhawk. Just remember, not everyone plays Gears of War for ten hours a day. I use mine for Blu-ray, internet, socialize with my friends, and even use it for my computer (linux). I belive Home is a great idea from Sony. They just need to hurry and finish it before its too late.

yo haters! I don’t get why you people are raging which console is better. Sony and Microsoft doesn’t know u! they just want your money. so give it a rest. Oh and er, PS HOME is the NEXT GEN experience because PS3 is truly a NEXT GEN console. nuf said! PEACE!

  8. xbox360 says:

it’s really not important to have home. game consoles are mostly made to play games and sure ya play online(y not) and let me say this who the hell thinks Microsoft is plagiarizing i mean its all the same games games games. and whose who say Microsoft are just copying are retards, because i mean look Xbox has the best selling games and the most on market, isn’t that what game consoles are about????
