Updated backwards compatibility for PS1 and PS2 games for 60GB and 80GB owners

Again i would just wan’t more web memory and a flash update to watch hulu online.

the ability to play music from your xmb list in all games would be great and so would in game xmb for ps1 & ps2 games but aarons comment sounds the best all ps1 & ps2 compatibility plus an improvement on the running of the old games for example the films in FFX run extremely bad

- I would like to have Region Free on ps3 that can play PS1/PS2 and Blu -ray movies around the world.
- Video on demand and Music for free,
- Watch TV live via Internet in HD.
- All PS2 games in PlaystaionStore.
- Flash player update and more memory.
- Real player and WMP11 on ps3 internet.
- Skype on ps3 as well MSN messenger.
- PS3 Home and Life.

THERE SHOULD B IN GAME MUSIC 4 EVERY GAME INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR A PATCH THAT WILL NEVER COME OUT FOR THE GAME U WANT IN GAME MUSIC FOR

a different web browser (probably asking for too much). something like opera or firefox rather than what sony already have.

i would like to be able to leave voice messages to friends , add more poeple to friend list , add psn id to the psp , and now that they are adding dual shock 3 support to the psp i would like to steam and play ps3 games saved on the hard drive but dont think that can happen.

The broswer is constantly freezing and running out of memory. Sony need to spend some serious time with the broswer; locate its faults and FIX THEM!
I had the broswer freeze SIX times last night…needing a manual shutdown which was followed by a “Incorrect hard disk” error message…requiring the unit to be turned off at the back. On one occasion it took three goes to get it to start.
I’m not alone! many people have the same problems.
The broswer is totally inadequate (even for a game console) for a web 2.0 world in 2008.
As for the flash player…!? It is a disgrace. Every day websites make flash 8 or 9 their minimum requirement making the PS3 broswer useless. Not a single game / gaming website works with the PS3′s flash! Even links in Sony’s own PLAYSTATION network to other websites don’t work due to inadequate flash or lack of memory. So much for compatibility and integration?
I really hope Sony pay attention because the broswer lets the PS3 down…BIG TIME!

I want to see

the ability to use the keyboard typing without pulling up the text entry box in 720p/480p/480i (as of now only in 1080p)

the ability to play your music in game for all games (regardless of weather or not it goes with the curent music because it can be muted in game)

flash player 9 and more web memory

full keyboard support so we can play flash games that use more than just the arrow keys and clicking. (with WASD keys, shift, control etc)

a fix to the problem where quiting a game causes you to sign out of playstation network.

the problem with in game XMB for ps1/2 is that the 60/20 versions use hardware. you would have to run ps3 and ps2 systems simultaneously. possible sinse the ps3 XMB uses only 90 MB ram ad 1 core and ps2 goes as high as 32 MB and 1 core

we cant expect an updated flash player since its adobe’s decision, not sony’s and adobe has allready said “its too hard” meaning they are ust lazy and wont give a rats ass about us.

it really is poor of sony to straight up Ignore this huge issue… ps3′s crashing 4,5 times a night because it cant load the same web pages as the humble Wii is just embarrassing. i angers me more that they Never comment about it at press confrences or even huge international conventions. i honestly think sony have no plans to fix there crippling and enragingly sloppy excuse for a web browser. Sort it out cheapskates

when is the update coming out and fix up da users on da ps3 i have pictures on my profile and on my brothers profile its there to fix up

i would like to be able to put videos i bought from itunes to my ps3, be able to send videos from my ps3 libary to my friends, add more friends in friend list up to 150 or 200.

The Wii scores HIGHER in the ACID3 test than the PS3 does – 33% to 25% respectively. Sony stuffed up big time by not giving the PS3 mor RAM. I just pray Sony can find a solution. The broswer needs Ajax…I’m always getting javascript errors!
If nothing else it must get improved flash and a “insufficient memory” fix.

I want to easily be able to transfer music from my ipod to my PS3. Right now I can transfer my ipod music to my ps3, but I have to rename the tracks since they appear in some kind of code. But first I have to identify which song it is and I have thousands of songs, so yeah, it’s a pain.

some of the things people are asking for are already available. You can play music from the XMB while surfing; Playstation Life is already available (go to Folding@Home and download the update); you can play your music while playing a game (NOT all games allow that though).

USB device better capabilities: instead of just clicking the drive and opening the contents and seeing that there are no files on it and having to go into the options menu and clicking display all to access the files on it.

There should be a place on the XMB to send Sony these messages for neccessary improvements.

Better video codec support. It’s supposed to be a “MULTI media hub”? Half the common codecs most people use are not supported! It’s things like this that hold the PS3 back and help Xbox sales.

We need Flash Player for the web browser. If adobe refused to update it for the cell, then make it yourselves, or have someone else make it.

It’s being reported all over the net that update 2.5 will include flash 9???

I wanna play mkv and a BIG plus would be if they fix so that you can add subtitles to avi movies as on a usual computer. hate all constrictions on prebuilt media stations. can’t understand whats so damn difficult unless they do it to sell less products.

If home ever gets here. i would like to see the ability to play personnel music on the web through the PS3. why? because i rather use my PS3 hard drive for this then use up my puny PC hard drive for this.
A browser like Flock would way better, than the stupid useless browser you have in the PS3 now.
also i would like to be able to browse the internet through the web, while playing a game., so i don’t to turn on computer just to look something up on a game. That goes for any game.

I would extremely like having the ability to be in a chat room and get on the internet or possibly a game at the same time, or even all 3 at the same time. that would be awesomeeee!!

I have a 55″ 4:3 HDTV 1080i

Problem is that the PS3 auto zooms the 16:9 image to fill out the 4:3 TV. This distortes the image and does not do the game / Blu-ray any justice.

I have since returned my PS3 for this reason.

All you have to do is allow the 16:9 aspect ratio to be played on a 4:3 TV….like all DVD/Blu-ray players do!!!! I don’t mind the black bars but if users do give them the option.

i would like to see MSN Messnger, or atleast the online version being compatible. This would be a good update if available to use just like messeging other ps3 users.

Flash Player 10 would help (and for some reason when i wisit certain websites i get a message at the top of the web page saying that they’ve detected that i’m using Internet Explorer 6 and saying that i should upgrade to Internet Explorer 8 , very strange considering that i was actually using the PS3s web browser)
