With the latest high-end phones all being touchscreens, lets look at two of the most popular and how their displays compare. How does the Blackberry Storm Touch Screen compare to the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music touch screen?
The BlackBerry Storm smartphone will let you select and type using it’s touch technology, and typing is made easy thanks to the on-screen keyboard that lets you just touch a letter and go.
Touch Screen Navigation on the BlackBerry Storm 9530 / 9500 is easy; you just use your fingertip on the screen like a mouse. The phone features Multi-tap and SureType technology. Other BlackBerry Storm display specs include: Light sensing screen, user selectable font size, 3.25-inch Transmissive TFT LCD, and a 480 x 360 color pixel resolution.
The Nokia 5800 Xpress Music phone has a 3.2-inch screen that looks great from any angle; it has 16 million colors, a 640×360 pixel resolution in a 16:9 ratio.
The widescreen on the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is optimized for one hand use and has an automatic orientation sensor. You can use the Nokia 5800 touch screen for text input and user interface control, with support for handwriting recognition.
What’s your choice: Blackberry Storm or Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic?

when i can buy nokia 5800
nice post.. u can though go into more details
I am not sure if the two products are really comparable as they are meant for a different target group. The Storm is a business phone while the 5580 with 1 year free music download is a music player. It the first attempt of both companies towards touch screen and nothing more or less.
This isn’t even a contest..but it shouldn’t have been.RIM have made a serious error by not including WiFi.What the hell were they thinking?. I wouldn’t even consider the Storm ,(which is probably an excellent phone), without WiFi, and since it doesn’t have that,I won’t be getting it and any other touchscreren smartphone WITH WiFi jumps ahead in the cue by default.I don’t care what else RIM have included on the Storm. No WiFi no buy.
Thanks for the post. I think both are good phones and have their pros and cons for different target groups. In respect of price and specs, Nokia seems to the clear winner here. Though I am sure, few people will think twice to buy the phone hurriedly because of software glitches which will at least take six months for fixing and releasing a firmware upgrade.
I have seen the specification of both handies. apart from the the fact that the blackberry has an E-mail push. i will not not recommed blackberry to somebody. not only nokia 5800 is a better business smartphone it is also an allrounder.please check the specififation in internet.my friend has just bought a blackberry.it does not even have a radio in built and the bluetooth is not ok
nokia rocks111 BE MORE NOKIA.
I think the nokia 5800 is miles better than any blackberry. I haven’t got it yet because I’m at work but it is at home for me when I get back. Even though I have never seen it I am sure that it is really good, not like that rubbish blackberry which I have also never seen.
I’ve got a blackberry storm and I reckon it’s really good. Better than those rubbish old nokias that hms penzance dweo is on about. He hasn’t even seen the nokia and he’s commenting on it!! ha ha. He’s right though, I’ve got a blackberry storm and I hate it, I don’t even know how to use the rubbish thing. My mate told me as well that the Nokia is brilliant but he hasn’t got it yet as it’s at home waiting for him so he’s never even seen it. All things considered I agree with the comments above.
Hi All
I have the pleasure of owing the Nokia 5800 Express Music, the Blaberry Storm, Samsung Omnia and The Ipone. I am using all phones constantly. My clear favorite by a mile is the Nokia 5800, followed by the Iphone, the Samsung Omnia and lastly the Blaberry. No mistake i have loved the iphone but i find the Nokia to be much easier to use. u can use 1 hand to sms easyly its very responsive everything seems to be where it should be. Its battery life is great, it has 3G, Wifi, great screen, doesnt weigh much and easy to hold.
Software for the symbian phone is readly available for free etc.
What i can say about the Samsung Omnia is that its probably the most powerful of the 4 phones its also good for the tech junkies as its is as good as a high end laptop in that department. Its slightly less responsive to the Nokia and iphone.
The Blackberry storm is heavy and not intuative at all as you click the numbers the screen itself moves down, this is unnerving and not greta it just doesnt make sense so lets not get into this phone. As a business phone its fine.
Anyway after using these phones for a while the NOKIA 5800 remains my trusted companion. The Music wauuuu!
