Dopod G1 Google Android phone: HTC to hit China
By: Peter Chubb | October 10, 2008
As we know the first to get the HTC G1 Google Android phone is T-Mobile, but it seems as if HTC are looking to up their game and offer the handset to the Chinese market. HTC are to team up with Dopod subsidiary in China and offer a G1 in the first quarter of 2009.
The Chinese version of the G1 will have radios that are better suited to China’s airwaves; well that is the intended plan. The phone might have Edge or TD-SCDMA; all the details are a little thin on the ground at the moment.
If HTC do bring the G1 to China, then this will bring a massive boast in sales to the first Google Android powered cell phone. This could certainly help the phone, when it does battle with the king that is the iPhone.
