Christmas Sales: Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 Both Winners
By: Peter Chubb | October 10, 2008 | 1 CommentWhen it comes to sales of next-gen games consoles, the Xbox 360 has always sold more units than the Sony PS3. There are a number of reasons why this is, but the main reason is its price. Since the launch of the Xbox 360 it has always managed to have a price that was not too shocking, and with a number of price reductions, Microsoft have never been in a better position. The Xbox 360 should see some fantastic sales for the Christmas period.
The Sony PS3 however has not had a good time; these consoles have taken their time to get off the starting blocks. We know that the hardware that Sony packed into the PlayStation 3 looked much better on paper. As we know good hardware costs money, so Sony packing the PS3 with a Blu-ray player and other goodies came at a price, and that was reflected in the price that we paid.
Thankfully the Sony PS3 have seen a number of price cuts, yes it is not as cheap and will never be as cheap as the Xbox 360, but you pay for what you get. I for one do not mind paying just that bit extra to get a Blu-ray player as well as a games console.
Well we know one thing; both the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 have overcome their hurdles, and are now ready for some great Christmas sales. Both of them will be winners this holiday season.
