Verizon officially confirms BlackBerry Storm and release date

Verizon have officially announced that they are to carry the Blackberry Storm, and have also announced a rough release data for the first touch screen Blackberry. The device will be offered through Vodafone in Europe, India, and Oceania.
The Blackberry Storm will give Verizon the perfect opportunity to show to us how 3G should work, as 3G has been working wonders with the iPhone 3G on AT&T. If all goes to plan, then the iPhone will not know what has hit them with the launch of the touch screen Blackberry Storm.
The Blackberry Storm from RIM features a touch screen with feedback, accelerometer-triggered landscape/portrait screen swap, and cut and paste feature. Expect the Storm to be out sometime late fall.

does anyone know of an exact date when the blackberry storm will go on sale in the shops??
reason i ask is that last monday (13th) i got a samsung omnia but hate it so much that want to swap it for the storm! However i only have a 14day slot (taking me to next monday 27th) to exchange the handset and i’m hoping the storm will be available by then.
if anyone could help me that’ll be great. i need the phone to be sold in phones 4 u by the way.

Well, you’re out of luck then…the earliest release day that’s been advertised has been November 14, 2008.
I can’t wait as I just bought the curve 8330. But I want the storm as soon as its available
Latest release date for the Storm is 11/16 according to BestBuy.
I know corporate/business verizon customers will have access to Storm a week or so before in-store date.
Does anyone know exact corporate customer release date?
Does anyone know the price of the Blackberry Storm?
I just went to Circuit City today at lunch and the “guy” told me he is pretty sure they will get it no later than November 23rd. He also said he expects the price to be somewhere betwen $199-$299 (with contract), which is about what every blog I read says…….
