Google and Yahoo to delay joint advertising deal
By: Peter Chubb | October 6, 2008
Search Engine giants Google and Yahoo are to delay their joint adventure advertising deal, to give time to lawyers and the Justice Department, just so they have more time to view the agreement. The delay is thought to only be one month.
This delay has raised yet more questions about the significant concerns that the Justice Department have over the agreement. This new advertising deal calls for Google to provide and run ads alongside queries that have been conducted by Yahoo’s Search Engine.
Both Yahoo and Google have said that it would be unprecedented for the Justice Department to stop this kind of deal. Google chief executive Eric Schmidt has said that, Google will still press ahead with the deal before the Justice Department concludes its review.
