Google Chrome: Did you go back to Firefox or IE8?

By: Peter Chubb | October 3, 2008 | 15 Comments

It has now been one month since the release of Google Chrome, the search engine giant’s first web browser. As with all things, Google wanted to show Microsoft that they had what it takes to develop a great browser.

When Google Chrome was first launched on September 2, it was surrounded by so much hype, and many people believe that it lived up to it. Microsoft must be running scared, because this was the first web browser from Google, and they seem to have done a great job.

This new and fresh web browser gives you a more organic experience than you do with the likes of, Firefox 3 from Mozilla or Internet Explorer 8 by Microsoft. When I first downloaded Google Chrome, I did not like what I saw and decided to go back to Firefox 3. I now think that this was a mistake, I should have spent more time with it, like you would an infant. I should have been patient with it and allowed it to prove itself.

So are you still using Google Chrome, or did you decide to go back to IE8 or Firefox?

Copy I downloaded wouldn’t even connect to the internet, even with firewall switched off. Just what I need in a browser, one that can’t get anything from the ‘net. So back to Firefox, which just works no questions asked.

When Adblock and Mouse Gestures are available I think I will start using Chrome permanently.

Chrome has been my default browser since it’s arrival, for a first beta it has been extraordinarily reliable. It offers innovative interface options. It looks stripped down, but a lot of things are there if you need them.

I am looking forward to more options to have custom add-ons AKA Firefox. Alot of the options that FIrefox offers in the Add-ons would be nice to have, maybe not fundamentally important but nice to have…

Google are you reading this? When we can we have our own community of Chrome Add-ons to tweak Chrome the way we want it? That is Firefox’s advantage but I think Chrome is already a better browser.

IE8? Firefox? what are those? google chrome rules hehehe bye

I went back to FF3 only because Chrome doesn’t have add-on capability yet and I rely on them quite a bit. Once Chrome gets the add-ons, I’ll make the switch.

At first I also didnt like Chrome. Not sure why i guess Im a bells and whistle man and then a friend said try it again. So I did. with apprehension. I got to know it better like fine wine. It grows on you. I like the fresh interface etc.
