Windows Cloud: Microsoft’s intended Internet-based OS

Steve Ballmer, Microsoft’s CEO has been revealing a few details on a new operating system. The new OS will be Internet-based, and is to be called Windows Cloud. Well we are not sure if that is the true name, but that is what Ballmer called it.

The new OS is for developers writing cloud-computing applications, and should be ready for launch next month. The term Cloud is usually used for programs that are presented in a web browser, however computing is performed at a data center.

As yet there are not many details, but it is a clear sign that Microsoft wishes to join the likes of Google, who have totally embraced software over the Internet. Having an Internet based operating system should cut down on costs as well as reduce maintenance.
