Audi A1 Sportback Hybrid: taking the fight to MINI

So if anyone was able to do battle with the MINI it would have to be a German company. Step forward Audi with their A1 Sportback. Ok first things first, the A1 does not have none of the tradition and style that goes with a MINI Cooper.

So how is Audi able to compete with such a nostalgic car, simple the A1 Sportback goes for the more sensible approach. The car has four doors as well as four full size seats, along with some cool styling.
The car comes with a 1.4 liter TSI engine, complete with turbo and supercharger

The A1 will produce 150hp to the front wheels. The A1 Sportback also has something else up its sleeve, a 27hp electric motor, making this a hybrid. The A1 Sportback should go on sale late in 2009.
