Is the new Nintendo DS a copy of Sony PSP?

The new Nintendo DS will be out by the end of this year, but what is interesting is the fact that the new DS handheld gaming device sports many features which really makes it similar to that of the Sony PSP.

The new DS will apparently be sporting features such as built in camera, enhanced Wi-fi and music playback function; obviously there is no official announcement of this from Nintendo.

What is known is that the release is set for the end of the year, and yes there must be a camera considering there will be new games that will take full advantage of the built-in camera. Let us know if you think the new Nintendo DS a copy of Sony PSP. Check this site out with some specs and images here.

Uh oh, someone is claiming that Nintendo is copying Sony….

Funny, it always seems to be the other way around. If the Big N is copying them, it’s about time.

You, sir, are an idiot. The features listed have pretty much nothing to do with the PSP. The DS doesn’t have widescreen, an analog nub, or an MS pro duo slot. Saying the new DS is taking cues from the PSP is like saying the new iPhone took cues from the old DS. Besides, the camera thing was used in the Gameboy. Sony just brought it back and expanded on it. Also, does the PSP have two screens? A touch screen? Cartridge games? Nope.
The music playback thing is universal now. Sony wasn’t the first. The Wi-Fi improvement was expected, too. How many times have you updated your wireless router? At least once, right?

Let’s take some time and laugh at your stupidity for posting this.

Didnt the psp just copy mp3’s and gameboy?
The new ds will be a case of offering more plus what has already made it a success, which was being different, and as far from psp as possible.
The inclusion of insignificant devices such as cameras and music playback with a slimmer design are all part of portability, a single device that does all.
Ds can do this, psp doesnt have ds software to cement itself here, hense the reason to bring ds to market. The new ds will happen, the same as every nintendo handheld has an upgrade roughly every 3 years, oh, thatll be about now then.
