Google’s Larry Page “Free the Airwaves” campaign get mixed response
By: Peter Chubb | September 25, 2008 | 1 CommentGoogle co-founder Larry Page had a few words to say with his “Free the Airwaves” campaign, already it getting a huge response. His strong words for those who oppose his company to open more airwaves for high speed internet access certainly have ruffled a few feathers.
It is not just Google who wish that the FCC would allow unlicensed use of white spaces, Microsoft for once agrees with the search engine giant. White Space is the gaps in the spectrum between television channels.
Broadcasters are not convinced they are worried that the use of this could interfere with television station as well as a number of other devices. Page has said that some of the tests done as to determine if new devices uses white spaces would cause interference was rigged. These are strong words, do you agree with Larry Page?
