When you look at the specs of a 7-inch PMP or UMPC, the LCD screens which are used usually come with a screen resolution of 800 x 480. So who would have thought that someone like Casio would have taken it one step further.
Casio have now come up with a new 2-inch display that has a resolution of 960 x 540. This has been achieved by using a proprietary Hyper Amorphous Silicon TFT (HAST) LCD. The end result is 546 pixels per inch; this will support 16.8 million colors.
Although the screens are a little small, it is thought that they will be perfect for using on future cell phones. Not sure what phones will get the new display, maybe it will be future NTT DoCoMo superphones.
